Early this fall, Luther sophomore Amelia Morrow was accepted to present her research at the Reflecting Black Fall Research Symposium: 400 Years (1619-2019) of African American Life and History in Houston.

Luther College students Maggie Anderson ’20 and Lena Schmitt ’20 presented their summer biology research at the annual Entomological Society of America meeting in St. Louis, Nov. 17-20.

Luther College alumna Jill Osier ’96 received the 2019 Yale Series of Younger Poets prize for her manuscript "The Solace Is Not the Lullaby." It will be published by Yale University Press in April 2020. The Yale Series of Younger Poets prize is the oldest annual literary award in the United States.

Luther College faculty will host the event titled Caucus Competence on Monday, Dec. 9, at 11 a.m. in the Center for Faith and Life Qualley Lounge.

Luther College President Jenifer K. Ward has announced the appointment of Stephen K. Sporer as vice president for development.

Luther alumnus Bruns will present "Tattoos for health: The future of smart tattoos" at 7 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 24 in Valders Hall of Science room 206.

At 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 22, the Center Stages Series brings Nobuntu to the Main Hall of the Center for Faith and Life on the Luther College campus.

The Decorah Community School District issued a public letter on Nov. 3 thanking Luther College athletic teams and staff for their ongoing support of our area students.

With more than 2,000 study away programs available, Luther College opens unlimited possibilities and new, rare experiences to students. To make study away opportunities more feasible the Luther College Center for Global Learning and Center for Sustainable Communities hosted the Sophomore Study Away Scholarship Giveaway.

On Saturday, Nov. 2, 2019 Dr. Jenifer K. Ward was inaugurated as the 11th President of Luther College. The Center for Faith and Life was filled with President Ward's family, friends, current and former colleagues, Luther students, alumni, Luther faculty and staff, elected representatives and Decorah residents.
