Luther College to host virtual Local Candidate Forum
Everyone is invited to learn more about the candidates on the Nov. 2 ballot by attending a virtual Local Candidate Forum at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 27.
Candidates for the offices of Decorah City Council and Decorah School Board will be participating. Moderated by Victoria Christman, director of the Center for Ethics and Public Engagement (CEPE), attendees will be able to submit questions during the virtual forum for the candidates to answer.
“This forum is a great opportunity for Decorah citizens and Luther students to engage in local civics,” said Spencer Gillian, a student member of the CEPE. “Local elections are and always have been an important way to shape our communities. I hope many students and community members will attend as they are able.”
All candidates running for Decorah City Council and Decorah School Board were invited to participate. The candidates for City Council who have confirmed they will be participating include:
- At-large: Ross Hadley (incumbent) and Tim Felton
- Ward 1: Randy Schissel (incumbent) and Martin Klammer
