The Fulbright U.S. Student Program selected 2026 Luther College graduate Sophia Chadima to be an English teaching assistant in the Czech Republic for the 2026-27 academic year.
The Karen Julesberg Scholarship benefits first-generation students, income-eligible students and students with disabilities.
Timothy Peter ’86 will lead the Nordic Choir domestic tour in January 2027 and the Nordic Choir international tour in June 2027.
Five Luther alumni will join the Luther College Board of Regents in October.
“These scholarship recipients exemplify resilience, determination, and commitment to service, community, and self,” said Jennifer Hanifl, Ed.D., director of TRIO Student Support Services.
Luther College’s spring 2026 Dean’s List includes 535 students.
“Luther applied for this grant because we believe vocational reflection is most powerful when it is woven throughout the student experience,” said Dean of Student Success Kate Elliott.
Luther College is one of a select group of private liberal arts colleges in the United States with a chapter of Phi Beta Kappa.
Luther received the 2026 Senator Paul Simon Award for Comprehensive Internationalization for excellence in international education.
His project is an example of how the core curriculum requirement may be tailored to a student’s interests.
