Luther junior Grba presents vocal recital on April 13

Luther College junior Kelly Grba is presenting a vocal recital at 12 p.m. Saturday, April 13, in the Noble Recital Hall of the Jenson-Noble Hall of Music on Luther’s campus.

Both her recital and the reception to follow are open to the public with no charge for admission.

Grba, daughter of Wally and Anne Grba of Bolingbrook, Illinois, is a 2016 graduate of Plainfield High School. She plans to graduate from Luther in 2020 with a degree in music education.

Grba’s recital will feature works by Ralph Vaughan Williams, Reynaldo Hahn, Gabriel Fauré, Vincenzo Bellini and Stefano Donaudy. She will be accompanied by Luther junior, Abby Saner.

Grba studies voice with Dr. Deborah Gover, assistant professor of music at Luther College.

Luther is home to one of the largest collegiate music programs in the nation with five choirs, three bands, three orchestras, two jazz bands and more than 800 student musicians. Luther students participate in large ensembles, faculty-coached chamber groups, private lessons and master classes. More than 275 music majors study music theory, ear training, history, education, composition, jazz, church music and performance.
