Health and Counseling Services
WinnMed provides health services, counseling services, and athletic training services on the Luther campus. At the WinnMed Luther Clinic, located in Larsen Hall, Luther students can receive routine, preventative, acute, and ongoing care; and mental health appointments through WinnMed’s Integrated Behavioral Health (IBH).
Mental Health Services
The intervention-based model of counseling provided by WinnMed at the Luther Clinic is designed for students requiring 10 or fewer sessions. It is not intended for students who need long-term chronic mental health care requiring more than 10 visits per academic year, or have ongoing mental health support from a hometown practitioner.
Luther College also provides telehealth services for 24/7 student mental health. For the academic year 2025–26, Luther College is changing its provider to UWill. Details about UWill will be released in mid-August 2025.
For a mental health crisis or any other life-threatening emergency, call 911 or go directly to your nearest Emergency Department. WinnMed Emergency Department is located at 901 Montgomery Street, Decorah, Iowa 52101.
