Luther College will present two concerts as part of the college's Family Weekend Sept. 21-23.The Luther College Concert Band, under the direction of Joan deAlbuquerque, will perform in the Center for Faith and Life Main Hall at 12:30 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 22.
Seven ensembles will perform in concert at 7 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 22 in the Center for Faith and Life Main Hall as part of the Family Weekend Concert. The ensembles will include Aurora, Cantorei, Cathedral Choir, Collegiate Chorale, Norsemen, Wind and Percussion Ensemble, and Varsity Band.
Both concerts are open to the public with no charge for admission.
Aurora, comprised of approximately 100 first-year women, and Cathedral Choir, 100 Luther sophomores, are under the direction of Sandra Peter, Luther associate professor of music.
Cantorei, a choral ensemble of approximately 85 women, is conducted by Linda Martin, Luther instructor of music.
Collegiate Chorale, an 85-voice choir of select juniors and seniors, and Norsemen, a first-year men's choir of approximately 90 voices, are conducted by Andrew Last, Luther assistant professor of music.
The Luther Wind and Percussion Ensemble, a 50-person ensemble of primarily first and second year students are under the direction of deAlbuquerque.
Varsity Band, consisting of approximately 100 students, is conducted by Brent Dodson, Luther assistant professor of music.
