2013 IIAC Indoor Track and Field Championships Results

Day Two Recap: Thanks to five all-conference performances that included two league titles, Luther completed the two-day IIAC Indoor Championships in second place with 127 points. Wartburg won the league title with 262, while Central was third at 108.

Tricia Serres and Jayne Cole headlined today's action as both athletes claimed league titles. Serres won the mile (5:03.95), while Cole won the 3,000 (10:49.91).

Serres also ran the anchor leg of the 4 x 800 (9:26.36) that placed second setting a school record in the process. Maggie Pierson, Annie Klepper and Kayla Uphoff preceded Serres.

The 4 x 400 relay of Marea Holkesvik, Anna Hennessy, Hannah Theisen and Kelsey Strand placed third (4:05.16). This time ranks fourth on Luther's all-time list. 

Addy Rickels earned the lone field event all-conference honor finishing second in the high jump (5-2 1/2).

Top-10 performances were recorded by Holkesvik in the 400 (1:01.14 - 9th), Pierson in the mile (5:11.24 - 7th), and Emma Cassabaum in the 20lb weight throw (42-7 1/2 - 5th).

Day One Recap: Luther is in second place following the first day of competition of the 2013 Iowa Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships. The Norse have tallied 59 points and follow Wartburg with 80. Loras is third with 52.

The top three place winners in individual events and relays earn all-conference honors.

Headlining day one results was conference championships posted by Jayne Cole in the 5,000 and the distance medley relay. 

Cole won the 5,000 clocked at 18:05.26, a mark that ranks seventh on Luther's all-time list. Christina Storlie placed second (18:20.81) also earning all-conference honors.

The distance medley relay foursome of Maggie Pierson, Kelsey Strand, Annie Klepper and Tricia Serres, not only captured the league title, but also set a Luther school record of 11:50.55. The Norse shattered the old mark of 11:55.81 set in 2001.

All-conference honors were also recorded by Leah Broderick and Addy Rickels in the pentathlon. Broderick placed second with a new school record of 3,108 points. Rickels was third with 3,101 that ranks second all-time.

Top-10 performances were also posted by Jackie Hoyme in the shot put (38-7 - 9th); Gabrielle Murphy in the long jump (16-10 1/2 - 7th); Kaitlyn Holden in the pole vault (8-6 1/4 - 7th); Megan Hatfield in the 55 hurdles (9.13 - 9th); and the 4 x 200 relay of Sarah Sindelar, Erin Kammer, Hannah Theisen and Marea Holkesvik (1:49.73 - 7th).
