With 20 fingers and one passion, the Unison Piano Duo comprised of Luther College piano faculty members Du Huang and Xiao Hu will present a concert at 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 17, in Noble Recital Hall, Jenson-Noble Hall of Music, on the Luther campus.

The Modern Language Association awarded the Katherine Singer Kovacs Prize for an outstanding book published in English or Spanish in the field of Latin American and Spanish literatures and cultures to Luther College’s Nancy J. Gates Madsen for her book “Trauma, Taboo, and Truth-Telling: Listening to Silences in Postdictatorship Argentina,” published by the University of Wisconsin Press.

Recently returning from their January Term trip to Namibia and South Africa, 21 Luther College students who participated in the Music 245: “Choral Singing in Namibia and South Africa,” course will present a program at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 9, in the Noble Recital Hall of Jenson-Noble Hall of Music on the Luther campus.

Photography captures more than a moment in time, it creates and adds to a larger narrative of history. “Remembering Martin Luther King Jr.: From hate to hope,” a photography exhibit curated by Luther College students, is a commemoration of the life and tragic death of Martin Luther King, Jr. on the 50th anniversary of his assassination.

Luther College’s fall 2017 Dean’s List includes 737 students; 142 first-years, 142 sophomores, 184 juniors and 269 seniors. To be named to the Dean’s List, a student must earn a semester grade point average of 3.5 or better on a 4.0 scale and must complete at least 12 credit hours with 10 hours of conventional grades (A, B, C, D).
