Goitse, pronounced go-witcha, is named after an informal Gaelic Irish greeting meaning 'come here.' Making a name for themselves as one of the most sought after Irish traditional bands around the world, the group has skyrocketed to the top of the Irish traditional music scene.
Goitse's specific style of music comes from original compositions being intertwined with traditional tunes from both Ireland and other countries. The group is made up of World and All-Ireland bodhrán champion Colm Phelan, Conal O'Kane on the guitar, Áine McGeeney on vocals, multi-award-winning banjo and mandolin virtuoso James Harvey and Tadhg Ó Meachair on the piano and piano accordion.
Goitse has released four critically acclaimed recordings and maintains a year-round world touring schedule that includes performances throughout Ireland, the United Kingdom, Germany, France and the United States. The groups albums include their 2010 self-titled album, "Goitse," their 2012 album "Transformed," their 2014 album "Tall Tales & Misadventures" and their most recent album in 2016, "Inspired by Chance." Their music has been described by Irish Music Magazine as "Music that is brimming with energy and creative zeal."
