Luther College invites Luther parents, friends and alumni to Luther's Mid-Winter Community Day, featuring swimming and diving, basketball and a pizza party, Saturday, Jan. 12, in the Regents Center on Luther's campus.
The annual Mid-Winter Community Day is sponsored by Decorah Bank and Trust, in partnership with Luther College.
Registration for the pizza party is requested. There is no charge for admission to Mid-Winter Community Day sporting events. Cost for the pizza party is $2 per adult; there is no cost for children 18 and under.
Events kick off with the Norse Sprint Invite swim meet begins at 11 a.m. in the Luther Aquatic Center, with both the women's and men's teams in action. The women's and men's basketball teams take on Central College, with the women's game at 2 p.m. and the men's at 4 p.m. in the Main Gym.
The community pizza party features Mabe's pizza as well as frozen custard from Culver's. Food will be served in the Regents Center North Gym from 3:30-5 p.m., through the end of the women's game and halftime of the men's game. Children can pick up a free "game pass" Luther No. 1 foam hand during the pizza party.
