Music had always been a friend to the Harris brothers when actual friends were few. The brothers grew up in Ithaca, New York with instruments, lessons and hand-me-down Beatles, Stones, Billy Joel and Joni Mitchell records.
Casey Harris, despite being blind since childhood, was able to learn to play the piano and make a living as a professional tuner. Casey would sit in on an early version of the band but Sam was not sure about Casey joining. He did not want to be in a band with his brother, but was eventually convinced that Casey was as good as it gets.
Feldshuh also grew up in Ithaca, New York and went to New York City's The New School with Sam. Not long after starting school, they met Los Angeles native Levin in the dorms. This addition completed the group as they are known today.
X Ambassador's first album, Litost was released Feb. 7, 2012. Their newest album, "VHS", first released June 30, 2015, was rereleased as a special edition titled "VHS 2.0" June 10, 2016.
