2016 Candidate Forum to be held at Luther College

Candidates for local Iowa Senate, Iowa House of Representatives and the Winneshiek County Board of Supervisors will be on the Luther College campus for a 2016 Candidate Forum Thursday, Sept. 22. The forum, open to the public with no charge of admission, will be held at 7 p.m. in Valders Hall of Science Room 206.

Monarch banding Sunday in Anderson Prairie

The migration of the monarch butterflies to Mexico has begun, and the Luther College entomology class will host a monarch butterfly migration banding event in Anderson Prairie on the Luther College campus from 1:30-4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 18.

Luther College's music department will present a concert of vocal and instrumental music at 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 17, as part of Family Weekend activities. Luther College Piano Quartet presents recital Sept. 25

The Luther College Piano Quartet will present a recital at 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 25 in the Noble Recital Hall of the Jenson-Noble Hall of Music on the Luther campus. The recital is open to the public with no charge for admission. The program includes Mozart's Piano Quartet in E-flat Major, K. 493, Brahms' Piano Quartet in C Minor, Op. 60 and Richard Strauss' Character pieces for Piano Quartet.

A strong advocate for mental health, Szabo's hope is to inspire students to evaluate and improve their own mental health.
