Brudos Family Opera Prize Recital: Luigi Enriquez

Luigi Enriquez, Luther College senior from Racine, Wisconsin, is the 2016-17 recipient of the Alan R. and Sally J. Brudos Family Opera Prize. As part of the award, Enriquez will perform a recital at 4 p.m. Saturday, April 22, in the Noble Recital Hall of the Jenson-Noble Hall of Music on the Luther campus.

Stoltenburg, Ph.D., an instructor of language and cultural integration strategies from Münster, Germany, will deliver a lecture titled "The European Refugee Crisis-Germany's Answer" at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 12, in F.W. Olin Building Room 102 on the Luther campus.

Fawcett and Larson receive Fulbright awards

The Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board has selected Luther students Betsy Fawcett, class of 2017, and Patrick Larson, class of 2017, to receive Fulbright awards for the 2017-18 academic year from the U.S. Department of State and the J. William Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board.

Gonçalves Soares and Jeide named 2017 Peace Scholars

Luther College juniors Bakhita Gonçalves Soares and William Jeide have been selected as Peace Scholars for the 2016-17 academic year. The pair will spend seven weeks this summer studying peace and conflict resolution in Lillehammer and Oslo, Norway.

Stefan Buchwald

Stefan Buchwald to visit Luther College

Stefan Buchwald, director of the German Information Center based in Washington D.C., will visit Luther College March 28-April 1 for Campus Week, a series of events celebrating the 500th anniversary of the Reformation sponsored by the German Embassy in Washington. During this time, he will meet with advanced students in Luther's German department and attend Luther's Liberating Grace conference March 31-April 1.

'Winn CO OP'

Featuring sculptures by Decorah native Luke Severson, the art exhibit "Winn CO OP" will be on display March 30-April 29 in the Kristin Wigley-Fleming Gallery in the Center for the Arts on the Luther College campus. There will be an opening reception in the gallery at 4 p.m. Thursday, March 30.
