The Norway, Decorah, Zululand Triangle: Tracing the Enduring Footprints of the Norwegian Diaspora

November 6 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

History professors Robert Christman and Richard Mtisi will give a public presentation on Thursday, Nov. 6, at 7 p.m. at Pulpit Rock Brewery. They will describe the surprising 19th-century connections linking Norway, Decorah, and Kwa-Zulu Natal, South Africa; explain how Luther College’s story became interwoven with the lives of Zulu communities and Norwegian missionaries; and recount the continuing impact of these efforts as discovered in a recent research trip to South Africa. Light hors d’oeuvres will be served.
