SWA and Helping Services Training

The Social Work Association (SWA) and Helping Services invites the community to a focused evening of mental health advocacy and crisis intervention training. This comprehensive session will equip attendees with vital skills, including QPR suicide prevention, Narcan administration, and strategies for stigma reduction. Participants will gain insight into the recent Behavioral Health realignment, explore resources through Your Life Iowa, and practice evidence-based techniques for talking to peers about mental health and substance use (alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs).

This event is an excellent opportunity for those entering helping professions to build their toolkit and support campus wellbeing. A full meal will be provided for all participants. Hope to see you all there!
