This session titled “Coming Out: An LGBTQ+ and Disability Experience” focuses on the question, ‘When do you disclose a hidden identity to your family, friends, peers, or workplace?’ Coming out has typically been seen as an LGBTQ+ experience; however, people with disabilities also must navigate when to disclose their identity. This presentation will explore some of the similarities and differences around coming out between LGBTQ+ identities and disability identities.
