Community Lunch: Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day

January 19 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

The Rev. Yehiel Curry, Presiding Bishop of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, will offer keynote remarks at Luther College’s 2026 Martin Luther King Jr. Day lecture at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 19, 2026, in the Center for Faith and Life Main Hall.

Participants will be invited to share and reflect on what “Courage for the Common Good” might look like in their own lives and relationships over a shared meal. During the lunch hour, a variety of drop-in youth activities will be available in Marty’s, located in the lower level Union. Students are encouraged to come by before or after eating.

Lunch tickets should be purchased in advance. The cost is $10 for adults and free for children and youth. We kindly request that community members reserve lunch tickets (including free tickets for youth) in advance to assist with planning and to provide an accurate headcount for event organizers.
