In 1825, the Restauration set sail, carrying 52 Norwegians to new lives across the Atlantic. This journey initiated a wave of immigration, with over a third of Norway’s population eventually making the voyage. Today, nearly 5 million North Americans proudly claim Norwegian heritage, a testament to the enduring ties between our continents.

In partnership with the Norway-America Association (NORAM) and the Norwegian Sister Colleges (Augsburg University, Augustana University, Concordia College, Luther College, Pacific Lutheran University, and St. Olaf College), this bicentennial celebration will honor a shared legacy and reunite alumni. We are delighted to announce that His Majesty the King will be in attendance, the former Minister of Foreign Affairs and Defense Ine Eriksen Søreide will deliver the keynote address, and we will feature a special musical performance to enhance our celebration. President emerita Jenifer K. Ward will be in attendance representing Luther College at the event.
