College to propose wind turbine in northwest Decorah

Luther College hopes to take a major step forward in its sustainability initiative in 2010 with the installation of a wind turbine that will generate about a third of the electrical energy used by the college each year.

Luther Bike Share program

Bike Share program promotes alternative transportation

Luther senior Cerbin invited to attend ninth annual Food and Society Gathering 2009

A Luther College senior will meet with agricultural industry leaders from sharecropping to shipping, at an international conference in April.

Flannery Cerbin is one of a select group of undergraduate college students invited to attend the Food and Society 2009 conference April 21-23 in San Jose Calif. She will have the opportunity to work with internationally known experts in food production and distribution to identify ways to improve the nation’s economy, environment, and society through Good Food Systems that provide healthy, green, fair and affordable food.

Luther vs. Wartburg: ‘Energy Challenge’ ends in a ‘split’

The decades old rivalry between Wartburg and Luther colleges is often played out on the athletic field.

In those competitions, either Wartburg in Waverly or Luther in Decorah must concede defeat. However, the two Lutheran-affiliated institutions have agreed to an unprecedented “split” in their recent contest over who could most reduce their energy consumption.
