Composition Colloquium on Luther campus March 8

Luther's Composition Colloquium, featuring composer Mike D'Ambrosio, will take place at noon Sunday, March 8, in the Choir Room of the Jenson-Noble Hall of Music on the Luther campus. The colloquium will be followed by a Faculty Artist Series recital at 2 p.m. in the Noble Recital Hall, by John Cord, Luther assistant professor of music.

POSTPONED: Luther's Jonathon Struve to perform baritone recital Feb. 21

THIS RECITAL HAS BEEN POSTPONED, new date and time TBA.

Jonathon Struve, Luther College adjunct faculty in music, will perform a baritone recital at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 21, in the Noble Recital Hall on Luther's campus. The recital is open to the public with no charge for admission and explores themes of love, infatuation, spirituality, the fantastic and the mundane, with texts by Leconte de Lisle, Paul Verlaine, Eduard Morike, Walt Whitman and Lewis Carroll, among others.

Luther College to host pianist Heidi Brende Leathwood

Heidi Brende Leathwood, guest pianist, will present a concert at 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 24, in the CFL Recital Hall. Brende Leathwood will perform Sonata in A Major, Sonata in G Major and Sonata in D Minor by Domenico Scarlatti, Sonata Op. 31 No. 1 and Sonata Op. 109 by Beethoven, and Piano Sonata No. 1 by Henryk Mikołaj Górecki.

Dorian festival

Luther to host the 67th annual Dorian Band Festival

Luther College will host the 67th annual Dorian Band Festival Feb. 22-23. High school band students, from approximately 125 schools, nominated by their high school directors come to stay on campus for the chance to experience Luther, rehearse with music faculty and perform in concert.

Rebecca Boehm Shaffer to perform horn recital Feb. 14

Rebecca Boehm Shaffer, Luther College adjunct faculty in music, will perform a horn recital at 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 14, in the Noble Recital Hall of the Jenson-Noble Music Hall on the Luther campus.

Peter Lingen to perform guitar recital Feb. 15

Peter Lingen, Luther College teaching associate in music, will present a guitar recital at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 15, in the Noble Recital Hall of the Jenson-Noble Music Hall on the Luther campus.

The program, open to the public with no charge for admission, features music from Brazil, Cuba, Paraguay and the United States, including pieces from composers Bellinati, Assad and Brouwer.
