Luther College Symphony Orchestra to perform Feb. 7 at Luther College

The Luther College Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Daniel Baldwin, will perform at 4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 7, in the Center for Faith and Life at Luther College. Three Luther College students from Decorah are members of the orchestra; junior Emily Alcock on the violin and first years Gabrielle Bruns and Madison Ihde on the viola and trumpet.

Luther College has named Roger Henderson of Grinnell, Iowa, the 2015 recipient of the Weston Noble Choral Award for distinguished achievement in the fields of teaching and conducting. Henderson, Luther class of 1982, was recognized for his work as an outstanding educator and conductor.

In a musical celebration of joy, community and holiday traditions, Luther College will present the 2015 production of "Christmas at Luther" Dec. 3-6 in the Center for Faith and Life on the Luther campus. "Christmas at Luther" will have five performances: 5:45 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 3; 6:30 p.m. and 9:15 p.m. Friday, Dec. 4; 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 5; and 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 6.
