Delighting audiences of all ages as they tumble, juggle and bounce their way through a captivating performance, circus company Flip FabriQue presents "Catch Me" at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 30, in the CFL Main Hall. "Catch Me" is a high-energy performance that involves a mix of theatre and acrobatics, featuring experienced performers who have all worked with esteemed companies around the world such as Cirque du Soleil and Cirque Éloize.
Stemming from her interests in sustainability and the visual and performing arts, Luther College senior Alexis Hove of Decorah completed a summer internship at Urban Cottage, an occasional store.
Contemplating change as both a powerful tool of construction and a disruptive act, Susan Schmidt, Luther assistant professor of social work, will present Luther College's opening Paideia Texts and Issues Lecture Series at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 3, in the Center for Faith and Life Recital Hall on the Luther campus.
Abbie Hughes, Luther College senior, completed a summer internship with the aquatics department of the Como Park Zoo and Conservatory in Saint Paul, Minnesota. Originally from Aitkin, Minnesota, Hughes graduated from Aitkin High School. She is the daughter of Don and Cathy Hughes of Aitkin, Minnesota. In her internship, Hughes was responsible for the care of harbor seals, California sea lions, polar bears, African penguins and tufted puffins. Hughes gained an appreciation of zoos and their conservation efforts through the internship opportunity. In the future, Hughes would like to help conserve animal species facing extinction or threats due to climate change.
