    In 1685, hundreds of thousands of Huguenots were forced to flee France attempting to seek refuge in other countries. Shasa Sartin, Luther College junior of Minneapolis, Minnesota, is researching the lives of French Huguenots to create a game based in 17 and 18th century Europe for her summer research project at the college.

    Quarks are the smallest things that science has discovered, shown experimentally to be about a million billion times smaller than a grain of sand. Tatiana Proksch, Luther College junior of Santa Barbara, California, is researching the physics of quarks and the forces by which they interact for her summer research project at the college.

    Luther College President Paula J. Carlson has announced the appointment of Lisa M. Scott as interim dean for institutional equity and inclusion. Scott will begin her service at Luther Aug. 7.
