    Luther Emeriti Colloquia: 'Christmas in a World at War'

    In his presentation "Christmas in a World at War," Marv Slind, professor emeritus of history, will use selections from  letters to illustrate the experiences that many men and women had during the holiday seasons of World War II. His reading will be accompanied by photographs from Luther Archive's World War II letters collection.

    Book Shop hosts event with Brian Andreas, Harley Refsal

    The Luther College Book Shop will host a book signing and carving demonstration Dec. 3-4. Luther alumnus Brian Andreas will sign two of his recent books from 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3. Professor Emeritus Harley Refsal and James Miller, Luther class of 2018, will give wood carving demonstrations from 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3 and noon-1:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4.

    Films by Luther artists to air on Iowa Public Television

    Iowa Public Television and the Iowa Department of Cultural Affairs announced the selection of 13 independent short films by Iowa artists for the upcoming program, "The Film Lounge," including films from Luther's own Thomas C. Johnson, Neal Abbott and Ian Carstens. "The Film Lounge" celebrates art and experimental films by Iowa artists, highlighting the value this art form lends to Iowa's cultural and economic vitality.

    Luther students to lead Dakota Access Pipeline panel

    Luther College students Rebecka Green and Courtney Field, class of 2019, will lead a panel discussion on the Dakota Access Pipeline following their trip to Standing Rock Reservation in North Dakota. Sponsored by the Center for Ethics and Public Engagement in collaboration with the Northeast Iowa Peace and Justice Center, the discussion will take place at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 29, in Valders Hall of Science Room 262 on the Luther campus.
