Chasing Shade is an Americana folk-rock trio based out of Iowa City, Iowa. Griffen Harris, Elliott Beenk and Tim Cigrand use drums, acoustic and electric guitar, bass and vocals to create music they are proud to call their own, while simultaneously connecting with a broad and ever-expanding audience.
The trio's debut album, titled "pen to paper," was recorded in 2011 and is available for purchase online. A new single, titled "Sunburned Bones," was released in January and all proceeds from the single are being donated to charity.
Harris performs on the acoustic guitar and the drums. Beenk performs on the banjo and the electric guitar, and Cigrand performs on the bass and the piano. All three provide vocals for the group.
Chasing Shade has provided support for such artists as Euforquestra, Mason Jennings, Pepper and Public Property.
