College Ministries to host Church Youth Fest Nov. 13-14

Nov. 1, 2010

Luther's Office for College Ministries will host Church Youth Fest Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 13-14, in the Center for Faith and Life.

The cost for Church Youth Fest is $45 per youth and $30 per adult sponsor.

Church Youth Fest is an opportunity for high school youth in grades 9-12 from congregations in the region to join Luther students for a weekend of celebration, workshops, relationship building, worship and recreation.

The theme for the weekend is "Live Love Fearlessly," drawn from 1 John 4:18, "perfect love casts out fear."

Music will be provided by 100 White Flags. All four members of 100 White Flags spent time touring the country as a part of a youth ministry team at various time in their lives.  With a heart for ministry and a passion for music, 100 White Flags hopes to be able to share music and the fun with people they meet along the way.

Guest speaker will be Carl-Eric Gentes, a 2002 Luther graduate who looks at life through his unique theological lens and fearlessly attempts to share the gospel through mixed media. Gentes is currently studying at the Lutheran School of Theology in Chicago, where he lives with his wife, Rachel, and their daughter, Mae.
