Mike Winfield, the "updated version of uncut funny" comedian who is one of the fastest rising comedy acts in the nations, will perform at Luther College Friday, Sept. 17.
Sponsored by the Student Activities Council (SAC) Diversity Committee, Winfield's stand-up comedy performance will be at 9 p.m. in Marty’s in Dahl Centennial Union.
Tickets are $10 and are available at the Luther Box Office, telephone (563) 387-1357 or firstname.lastname@example.org. The Box Office is open Monday-Friday, from 9-10:30 a.m. and 11 a.m.-3 p.m. with extended hours on Thursdays, when it is open until 7 p.m.
Winfield is originally from Baltimore and is now based in Sacramento, Calif. He can usually be found performing in California's Bay Area when he's not touring colleges and various locations around the country.
Winfield was a semi-finalist on NBC's "Last Comic Standing" and has participated in various comedy competitions across the country, such as the Montreal Comedy Festival, the Aspen Comedy Festival and the Bay Area Black Comedy Competition.
No stranger to television, Winfield has brought his unique humor and winning personality to "Comics Unleashed," BET's "Comicview," Showtime's "Comics Without Borders," Comedy Central's "Live at Gotham" and a pilot for Comedy Central with MADtv comedian Bobby Lee.
He will be seen on an upcoming episode of "The Late Show with David Letterman."
