The Luther Diversity Center will present the 27th annual Ethnic Arts Festival Saturday, March 13.
The 2010 Ethnic Arts Festival theme is “Celebrating Culture: Exploring Possibilities.” The festival, founded in the 1980s, is a celebration of diversity and cultural identity on Luther’s campus.
The festival will include afternoon exhibits, an evening sampling of international foods, followed by performances from around the world.
A showcase of presentations, programs and displays by Luther’s international students, international faculty and staff, and students returning from studying abroad, will represent a wide range of countries will be offered from 1-4 p.m. in the lobbies of the Center for Faith and Life. There will be an international bazaar from 1-4 p.m. in the Qualley Lounge of the CFL.
Festival activities, exhibits and entertainment are suitable for people of all ages and offer a fun educational activity for families with children. There is no charge for admission to the afternoon cultural presentations or the evening entertainment.
The Ethnic Arts sampling of international cuisine will be served 4:30-7 p.m. in Peace Dining Room of Dahl Centennial Union. Cost for the cuisine is $8 for adults, $4 for children ages 5 to 10, and $2 for Luther students on board. Tickets are available at the Luther Box Office, (563) 387-1357, open 9-10:30 a.m. and 11a.m.-3 p.m. on weekdays with extended hours on Thursdays until 7 p.m.
Entertainment will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the Main Hall of the Center for Faith and Life. This event is free and open to the public.
