Feb. 26, 2010

Former Iowa governor Terry Branstad will take part in a town hall meeting Wednesday, March 3, at noon in the Center for Faith and Life recital hall.

Sponsored by the Luther Republicans student organization, the meeting is part of Branstad’s Iowa Comeback Tour.  The event is open to the public with no charge for admission.

Branstad began his tour on Jan. 19 at the Iowa State Historical Society Building in Des Moines, and he plans to include visit to all 99 counties in the state.

Parking for the event can be found in the Regents Center Parking Lot or the Preus Library Parking Lot on the Luther campus.

From 1983-99, Branstad served four terms as Iowa’s governor.  He served as the president of Des Moines University until October 2009 when he began to explore the idea of running for governor. He is now officially seeking election as the Republican candidate in the 2010 Iowa gubernatorial elections.
