Luther's Anita Carrasco granted Carson Writing Fellowship

Luther College Associate Professor of Anthropology Anita Carrasco was granted the highly competitive, Writing Fellowship from the Rachel Carson Center for Environment and Society in Germany for a six-month residency. The Center accepts applications from faculty and researchers from all over the world, awarding fellowships to only 12 percent of applicants.

Luther College announces spring 2017 Dean's List

Luther College's spring 2017 Dean's List includes 743 students; 56 first-years, 146 sophomores, 210 juniors and 331 seniors. To be named to the Dean's List, a student must earn a semester grade point average of 3.5 or better on a 4.0 scale and must complete at least 12 credit hours with 10 hours of conventional grades (A, B, C, D).

Luther College's sustainability receives STARS silver rating

A national assessment shows Luther College has made significant gains in sustainability performance over the past three years. This spring Luther submitted information on the college's efforts to STARS (Sustainability Tracking, Assessment & Rating System), a program run by the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education. Luther received a STARS silver rating of 62.47, which shows improvement from the 47.51 rating the college earned in 2014.

Luther College Preus Library receives National History Day award

Luther College's Preus Library received the Outstanding Library and Archives Award as part of the 2017 National History Day state contest, sponsored by the Iowa Department of Cultural Affairs. The award, also known as the "Kids Count" award, honors Preus Library with contributing the most to the work of young historians in the National History Day contest.

Luther College's Geoffrey Dyck, junior, and Anna Phearman, sophomore, have received summer internships from the Office of the Secretary of the United States Senate. The pair will have the opportunity to work alongside Secretary of the Senate Julie E. Adams, Luther class of 1999.

Scott and John Meyer receive Luther College Young Alumni Award

Luther College has awarded brothers Scott and John Meyer the Young Alumni Award for 2017.

S. Meyer, Luther class of 2005, and J. Meyer, Luther class of 2008, are co-founders of the company 9 Clouds in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. In 2011, J. Meyer founded the company Lemonly, a sister company to 9 Clouds, also in Sioux Falls.
