Luther professor publishes book on Elizabethan manuscripts

In her new book, "Bible Readers and Lay Writers in Early Modern England: Gender and Self-Definition in an Emergent Writing Culture," Kate Narveson, Luther College associate professor of English, looks at Bible reading among ordinary layfolk after the Reformation, and shows how it gave rise to a nonprofessional writing culture, what she calls the first bloggers.

New Sunnyside Café coffee beans

Sunnyside Café at Luther College to celebrate new coffee with grand opening

Luther College's Sunnyside Café will celebrate its switch to K'uun Coffee, roasted locally by Bean Masters Inc., with a grand opening and ribbon cutting at 9 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 8. Truffles and biscotti will be available for sampling, and there will be special activities including a trivia game. Sunnyside is inside Luther’s Center for the Arts.

Luther College SAC Diversity presents Tani Diakite Nov. 9

Tani Diakite, a Malian blues-funk artist, will perform at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 9 in Marty's CyberCafé in Dahl Centennial Union on the Luther College campus. Diakite's visit is sponsored by Luther's Student Activities Council's Diversity committee.
