Luther College’s Center for Sustainable Communities welcomes six new members

Luther College’s Center for Sustainable Communities welcomes six new AmeriCorps and FoodCorps members: Ashley Dress, Jake Geis, Felicia Pinto, Ashley Turk, Paige Wettach and Megan Woodward. This dedicated and diverse group of individuals comes from across the nation to volunteer for a year of service with one common goal: to help create a just and vibrant local food system and build active local communities. Housed at Luther’s Center for Sustainable Communities in partnership with the Northeast Iowa Food and Fitness initiative, members serve in 18 community school districts across the region.

Book Shop signings

Luther College presents book, DVD signings during homecoming

The Luther College Book Shop will host book signing sessions Friday, Oct. 4 and Saturday, Oct. 5, as part of Luther's homecoming weekend of events. Luther alumna Callista Gingrich, class of 1988; Richard Simon Hanson, Luther professor emeritus of religion and class of 1953; Douglas Knick, Luther professor; Carson Ode, class of 1963; and Steven Nelson, on behalf of his late wife, class of 1970, will sign copies of their books and DVDs in Luther's Book Shop located in the Dahl Centennial Union on Luther's campus.
