Luther College invites community to annual Ethnic Arts Festival

Luther College invites the Decorah community to the annual Ethnic Arts Festival Saturday, March 5, on the Luther campus. Hosted by Luther's Diversity Center, the event begins with a country fair from 1-4 p.m. in Williams Lounge on the first floor of Dahl Centennial Union. The fair, open to the public with no charge for admission, features presentations, programs and displays from more than 30 countries.

#luthergives16 receives grant from Thrivent Financial Foundation

Luther College was awarded a $10,000 grant from the Thrivent Financial Foundation, Minneapolis, Minnesota. The grant supports Giving Day (#luthergives16), a one-day social media extravaganza to encourage giving back to the college. Set for March 10, #luthergives16 will use Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Snapchat to encourage alumni, parents and friends to give to the Luther College Annual Fund.

When tragedies occur, people tend to wonder why they happen. For those who associate their religious health with the health of the world, they may believe that a higher power is displeased with them. Martin Kavka will discuss models of this behavior as well as suspicion of it in his guest lecture at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 8, in the Valders Hall of Science Room 206 on the Luther College campus.

Luther College presents 'In Memoriam Eius'

Luther College is proud to present "In Memoriam Eius," a concert of new music for voices and percussion at 4 p.m. Sunday, March 6, in the Noble Recital Hall of the Jenson-Noble Hall of Music on the Luther campus. A pre-concert talk will be offered at 3 p.m. in the choir room in Jenson-Noble before the concert.
