The Luther women’s tennis team grabbed its second straight shutout and third straight victory, dispatching Elmhurst by a 9-0 count on Wednesday, March 27 in Orlando, Florida. All nine Norse players saw action for the second straight match.
The match kicked off with singles play and the Norse won all six matches in straight sets, only dropping a total of 14 games over 12 sets. Lola White-Baer won (6-0, 6-0) over Nicole Darga at No. 2 while Adriana DePaolis did the same against Ragan Wilson at No. 4. Annie Whiteley was a (6-1, 6-0) winner over Lauren Kuehn at No. 3, and Olivia Heitz beat Jennifer Guenther (6-2, 6-1) at No. 6. Elise Allen picked up her second straight victory at No. 1, knocking off Annie Duggan (6-2, 6-3). Megan Wachholz beat Brittany Kuehn (6-2, 6-3) at No. 5.
Luther used two new doubles teams at No. 2 and No. 3 and both came away with lopsided victories. Maggie Helms and Hailey Johnson ran through Brittany Kuehn and Alexis Adams at No. 2, winning (8-0). DePaolis and Wachholz were (8-3) winners against Wilson and Lauren Kuehn at No. 3. Katy Lindstrom and Whiteley continued their strong play, pulling out a (9-7) victory at No. 1, defeating Annie Duggan and Nicole Darga to give Luther another 9-0 win.
