Luther won its 11th game in a row defeating Coe College in Cedar Rapids 5-2. The Kohawks scored both of their runs in the bottom of the first inning off Augie Lindmark, who was credited with his eighth win of the season. Lindmark pitched six innings and spread five hits, walked three and struck out one. Alec Knop was credited with the save not allowing a hit in three full innings of work.
Ryan Bahnemann led a Norse attack that produced 11 hits. Bahnemann was 4-for-5 with two RBI. Chris Erikson and Ian Fitzgerald also had multiple hit performances. Erikson was 2-for-5 with an RBI and Fitzgerlad was 2-for-2 and scored a run.
The victory gives Luther an Iowa Conference record of 13-8, 22-15 overall. The victory and also secures a spot in the six-team Iowa Conference Tournament. Coe fell to 12-9, 21-15 overall.
These two teams will wrap up the three-game series tomorrow with a double header that will begin at 1:00 p.m.
