Luther posted a 3-2 come-from-behind victory over St. Scholastica tonight under the lights. Trailing 2-0 with 24 minutes left in the match, Luther scored three unanswered goals to secure its third win in a row.
Ellie Schmid (3) got things rolling with an unassisted goal in the 66th minute. Schmid has now scored three goals in the last two matches.
Four minutes later, Marta Springer leveled the score with her second goal of the season at 70:21 assisted by Hannah Christopher (1). As the clock was winding down and it appeared like extra minutes were in the future, Maggie Anderson drove in the game winner off a rebound shot that was sent to the net by Schmid. Anderson's goal found the back of the Saints net with 1:23 left in the match. It was her second goal of the season.
The win gives Luther an overall record of 3-1. St. Scholastica fell to 0-2-1.
Luther returns to action on Wednesday, Sept. 13, when they will host UW-La Crosse at 7:00 p.m.
