Alana is from Cold Spring, MN where she attended ROCORI High School. She plans to major in biology and focus on pre-optometry, but is super excited to have performance opportunities on campus as well! Alana is already dancing in Orchesis, and will be featured as an aerial dancer in the upcoming production of Chicago. Last year Alana was able to be a part of was the Addams Family with Great Northern Theatre Company, and can't wait to get back on stage. Welcome to Luther, Alana!
Joshua Hartl is a Theatre major with minors in German and International Studies from Oskaloosa, IA. Joshua loves making audiences laugh, smile, and cry, and was able to do so in his production of Annie in high school-as you know, you're never fully dressed without a smile! It was great to see Joshua onstage in Lunatics this year, everyone involved showed wonderful commitment and excitement for the production. We're excited to see where you go, Joshua!
Tia Meyer graduated from Mound Westonka High School in Mound, MN. She is thinking about majoring in Business or Music Management, but might be interested in minors in Music, Spanish, or Theatre, she's come to the right place to explore all of her interests in our liberal arts environment! Tia played Alice Beineke in The Addams Family Musical in her senior year of high school, and is super excited to get back onstage at Luther this year. We know you'll do great things here, Tia!
Rebecca Davis attended Bettendorf High School, but she's really from Davenport, IA. She loves working with people, but isn't sure what she wants to major in yet. She's thought about bio for pre-med, becoming a motivational coach, a park ranger, maybe going into education, or illustrator for children's books, perhaps even a PE teacher. Long story short, she's got lots of options! Although Becca enjoys dancing and acting, she's most comfortable working backstage. She worked the sound board and assisted in a production of Beauty and the Beast which she loved, but found it challenging. We're sure she'll be up for anything we can throw at her here! Kieran Benson is a first-year studying Communications from Rock Island, IL. Kieran absolutely loved playing Elizabeth Proctor in The Crucible, and can't wait to get involved at Luther as an actor or on the production side of things. Kieran has already gotten her performance career started with the SPIN Musical Theatre Cabaret: Flops! performing in "Untitled Opening Number" from [title of show]. We're happy to have you, Kieran!
Dalton Klampe is from Janesville, MN where he graduated from Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton. He wants to major in both Theatre and Management which will foster his love of performance as well as stage design. In the past, Dalton was involved in the musical State Fair, and is excited to get involved in future productions here at Luther. Good luck, Dalton!
Seth Phillips is a music education major from Osage, IA. Although he says he's an actor at heart, Seth loves musicals and singing and dancing on stage. His loves of all things musical theatre were showcased when he performed as Kenickie in Grease at his high school and was awarded "Outstanding Performer in a Principle Role" from the Iowa High School Musical Theatre Awards. We can't wait to see what he's involved in here at Luther!
Milan is from Denver, Colorado and plans to major in Neuroscience with a minor in Philosophy, but loves theatre and especially acting. In high school, he enjoyed playing Danny Zuko in Grease and is excited to continue to grow as an actor and singer here at Luther. We've already gotten to see him onstage in Lunatics this year which was fantastic! Welcome to Luther, Milan! We're excited to see more of you.
Amber Olson graduated from Kenyon-Wanamingo High School in Zumbrota, MN. She is majoring in Music Education, but is thrilled that she can continue performance here at Luther as well. Amber played Maria in her high school's production of The Sound of Music and had a blast, and has stretched herself into the tech field working backstage for Luther's production of Lunatics this year. Amber is sure to have many more exciting opportunities here at Luther!
Lillian Carlson is from Houston, MN and plans to study either biology or psychology here at Luther. She's looking at a music minor as well, but of course is interested in acting here at Luther. Lilli was able to end her high school career playing Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz and is so excited to continue performing in future productions here at Luther. It's great to have you here, Lilli!
Anne Sedlacek is from Plymouth, WI and graduated from Plymouth High School. She is a vocal performance major, and is thrilled to be utilizing Luther's new musical theatre minor as well. She has been performing since she was 10 years old and loved playing Marian (the librarian) in The Music Man this past spring. Anne is excited to get involved in Luther's various productions throughout the next 4 years, and we know she's going to do great things!
Grace is from St. Paul, MN where she graduated from Irondale High School. She is studying management, theatre and musical theatre, and is considering adding journalism to that list. Grace has dabbled in lots of areas of theatre, acting as Echo in Eleemosynary as well as Logainne in 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee both at her high school, and stage managing for The Giver with Youth Performance Company. She's thrown herself into those areas at Luther already acting as the assistant stage manager for Lunatics, and performing in a number from Bloody, Bloody Andrew Jackson in SPIN's Musical Theatre Cabaret. We can't wait to see what else Grace can do!
Dylan Schang attended Appleton North High School in Appleton, Wisconsin. He is studying opera performance here at Luther, and is excited to perform as an actor and singer in our theatre productions. Dylan loved performing in Newsies in high school, and was thrilled to get to perform in SPIN's Musical Theatre Cabaret already this year. We're excited to see Dylan in the upcoming production of Chicago at Luther this fall and in many more performances throughout his time here at Luther!
Owen Feye went to Prairie du Chien High School in Prairie du Chien, WI. Owen is majoring in psychology and is excited that he can experience theatre at Luther at the same time. His favorite performance was in Little Shop of Horrors in high school, but that might be rivaled by his experience in Lunatics this fall at Luther. We loved getting to watch him onstage and can't wait to see what else he can do!
Josie Ramler is a theatre major from Cannon Falls, MN. In high school, Josie was able to play Rizzo in Grease, and she also plans to minor in musical theatre to keep up those skills here at Luther. Haley Miller attended both Iowa City and Iowa City West High School in Iowa City, IA. She plans to study elementary education or school counseling here at Luther while she continues to dance on the side. Haley loved performing with her dance company back home, and is already involved in Orchesis dance company to keep up those skills. Haley was able to perform with Orchesis in the SPIN Musical Theatre Cabaret, and is excited to continue performing here at Luther. Can't wait to see more from you, Haley!
Jessica Kamaus is from West Union, Iowa where she attended North Fayette Valley High School. She is planning to study Psychology and minor in theatre at Luther focusing on both acting as well as the tech side of things. Lauren Hammes is from Orfordville, WI and attended Parkview High School. She is planning to study vocal performance at Luther and get music education certification as well as get some more experience acting in the theatre department. Lauren loved being a part of Sweeney Todd at Parker High School in Janesville, WI, and is thrilled to continue her performance career in Chicago this fall. KeAndre' Withers is from Rochester Minnesota and attended John Marshall High School. He plans right now to study psychology and theatre focusing on the musical theatre aspects of acting, singing, and dancing. In high school, Dre' loved performing as Donkey in Shrek the Musical, and as Lucas Beineke in The Addams Family, but is really looking forward to working on the tech side for Chicago this fall. Rhylan graduated from Triton High School in Dodge Center, MN. He is super excited to get involved in musical theatre at Luther and plans to major in both music and theatre as well as get the new musical theatre minor. Rhylan will make his Luther debut in Chicago this fall which will be a wonderful return to the stage after being in The Music Man last spring. Spencer Gillian is a first-year studying computer science and music from Sartell, MN. Spencer loves all aspects of theatre including acting, directing, sound, and lighting. Although he's not directly involved in any of the productions on campus right now, he is working with our theatre professor Dr. Robert Vrtis on his literary team. Spencer really enjoyed being involved in The Drowsy Chaperone in high school, and we can't wait to see what he can do here at Luther!
Megan Priest is a recent graduate from Mosinee High School in Wisconsin, and plans on studying vocal music education while at Luther. She loves all aspects of theatre having worked on makeup crews, student-directed plays, and working as a production manager. Currently, she is a director, social media representative, and website coordinator for Mosinee Community Theatre and is set to be co-directing the next summer show, Shrek the Musical. Megan is super excited to work on upcoming VPA productions within her years at Luther College!
Emma Fretheim went to Decorah High School here in Decorah, Iowa. Emma plans to major in visual communication, a new program in the Visual and Performing Arts Department. She plays on the Luther gold team, and is excited to get involved in acting and lighting here at Luther. She loved getting to work on Peter and the Starcatcher in high school, and is excited to get back into the theatre realm once golf season is over. We're happy to have you here, Emma!
Ethan Williams attended East Ridge High School in Woodbury, Minnesota. He is studying vocal music education, but is looking forward to working on the musical theatre and acting side of things with the Visual and Performing Arts department. In high school, Ethan had the joy of performing Jean Valjean in Les Miserables, which he says he will cherish for the rest of his life. We're excited to get to see Ethan debut onstage here at Luther sometime soon!
Kalista Farmer is from Gypsum, Colorado where she graduated from Eagle Valley High School. She's not sure yet what she wants to major in, but she knows it will be some form of education. Kalista has acted in some really fun productions including Suessical the Musical, as well as Annie, and is excited to get back at it and maybe try her hand at directing. Noah is from Mount Horeb, WI, where he attended Mount Horeb High School. There are several things that Noah wants to study, but he isn't quite sure what he wants yet although theatre, music, and psychology are all appealing. Noah has been involved in lots of shows through his life, and loved performing as Wallace Harley in Oregon Strawhat Players' production of Titanic: the Musical. He is planning on working with SPIN Theatre as much as he can after participating in their musical theatre cabaret, and looks forward to any performance opportunities on campus. Katherine O'Connell is from Cedar Rapids, Iowa and went to John F. Kennedy High School. She is double majoring in Vocal Performance and English and is really interested in acting and singing with the theatre department. Kathryn Byzewski is a Spanish and communications double major from Minneapolis, MN where she attended Fridley High School. She is on a dance scholarship and is so excited to start performing here at Luther. In high school, she was able to try out something really unique in a "Burns Night" performance where her group used traditional Scottish dances to create choreography to more modern Celtic music. We're excited to see what she can bring to our program!
