Emily Green (18) and Kelly Kennedy (18) present at National Academy of Neuropsychology

Blog on the happenings in the Laboratory for the Investigation of Mind, Body, and Spirit in the Psychology Department at Luther College

From October 19-22, 2016, Emily Green (’18) and Kelly Kennedy (’18) ventured to Seattle, Washington to conduct a paper and poster presentation at the National Academy of Neuropsychology.

The study they presented examined forgiveness of self and others as it relates to 9-year changes in cognitive impairment in a representative sample of United States adults. The study also examined how forgiveness moderates the negative impact of hostility on these same cognitive changes.

Emily and Kelly delivered an oral presentation to 50+ professional neuropsychologists and also presented at a poster session. They were able to attend a number of other presentations on aging, neurodegenerative diseases, learning disabilities, traumatic brain injuries, and more! "This was a challenging and rewarding opportunity," said Emily.
