The Dane County Farmers' Market Sanitation Specialist Position

The Dane County Farmers' Market (DCFM) is hiring for our outdoor Saturday Market around the Wisconsin State Capitol.  

This position is essential to making the Market the special place that we all love!  Are you curious?  

We're hiring a Sanitation Specialist! This is position is responsible for ensuring that the Market is a clean and inviting environment, including: emptying the 8 trash cans and 8 recycle bins around the Capitol Square and transporting the trash bags (via wheeled cart) to our dumpster nearby; assisting with set-up and clean-up, as requested; and generally being a friendly representative of the Dane County Farmers' Market. The position reports directly to the Market Manager.

Commitment: Every Saturday, beginning April 14 and running thru November 10, 2018.  (You will have off on July 14th and you may also take off two additional Saturdays, with advanced notice.)

Hours: The hours are from approximately 8:30am to 2:30pm each Saturday (may vary slightly from week to week, depending upon other events, etc.)

Compensation: $17/hr, paychecks bi-monthly. This position is an employee of the DCFM.

Skills/Abilities/Requirements: The ideal candidate is reliable, dedicated, and excited to work every Saturday as part of the Dane County Farmers' Market. Must be able to lift 40 pounds and pull/push a cart with 100+lbs.  Must be at least 16 years old and able to legally work in Wisconsin. Must be self-motivated, have an eye for detail, and interface well with the general public.
