Adam Strand

Adam Strand is a 2004 graduate of Luther College and the 2019-20 campaign will be his ninth year as head coach of the men and women's tennis program. He has has coached 23 all-conference singles players, 18 all-conference doubles players, and one conference MVP. In 2019, both the women's and men's teams won American Rivers Conference AQ Tournaments and qualified for the NCAA III National Tournament. The women made their 14th appearance at the national tournament and men made their seventh. His women's team also won conference championship in 2016 and 2017, the 26th and 27th in school history. Adam and his wife, Gwen, reside in Decorah with their daughter, Keira. Gwen is also employed at Luther College and works as a biology instructor.

  • Named Coaching Staff of the year for men's tennis along with Associate Head Coach Miriam Skrade in 2019.

  • Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Central Region Ranking Chair from 2017-2018.

  • Head coach at Augustana College (Ill.) from January 2006 to May 2011 
  • Career record of 107-66 with the men and 71-58 with the women
  • Named CCIW Co-Coach of the Year for women's tennis in 2010-11
