Luther posted its second win in a row in today's final match of the ACM Tournament hosted by Macalester College. The Norse rolled to a three-set victory defeating Grinnell 25-9, 25-12, 25-19.
Lexie Erickson led all attackers with 14 kills. She was credited with 21 total attacks and recorded an attack percentage of .667. Emma Veum and Molly Wettach were next with eight and six kills respectively. Lindsey Ryan, who is closing in on the career assist record, dished out 32 and also led the team with four ace serves. Ryan entered the weekend needing 105 assists to break the record held by Katie Kuhlman (2000-03) of 3,609.
Defensively, the Norse tallied 8 team blocks. Veum, Erickson and Ryan were all credited with three block assists, while Wettach and Katie Shabatura both tallied two. Taylor Gaide led the back row with 16 digs.
The win gives Luther an overall record of 3-4. They will face Lawrence University at 9:00 a.m. tomorrow morning, followed by a match against Knox College at 11:00 a.m.
