The American Rivers Conference has announced that Luther College senior middle blocker Emma Veum (Eagan, Minn./Eastview) has been named the league's Co-Offensive Player of the Week, for the week ending Sunday, Sept. 9, 2018. Veum shared the honor with Sydney McLaren of Buena Vista University.
Veum helped lead Luther to a 4-0 record at the ACM Tournament hosted by Lawrence University, Appleton, Wis., Sept. 7-9. The Norse defeated Ripon College (3-1), Beloit College (3-0), Lake Forest College (3-1) and Lawrence University (3-0) and improved to 6-3 overall.
She led the Norse with 53 kills, had eight attack errors in 91 attempts, posting an attack percentage of .494. She also led the team with 4 block solos and 13 block assists.
A three-time all-conference honoree, she currently leads the team in kills (103) and total blocks (38). In 33 sets played, she is averaging 3.12 kills and 1.15 blocks per set.
This is Veum’s second Offensive Player of the Year accolade (9/10/18, 9/27/15).
