The 2017 Iowa Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships are complete and Luther finished in fifth place with 54 points. Buena Vista University is hosting the three-day championships at J. Leslie Rollins and Peterson Field, Storm Lake, Iowa.

Day Two Recap: Headlining today's performances was the all-conference performance by Hannah Wright. To earn all-conference an individual or relay must finish in the top-three of their respective event. Wright placed third in the 10,000 meter run posting a time of (39:25.50). This is the second time of her career she has earned all-conference in this event. She also placed third in 2015.

Also earning points for the Norse in this event was Anna Ryden who placed fourth (39:47.82) and Erin Ellefsen who was sixth (40:28.85).

Stephanie Murray advanced to Saturday's final in the 800 meters. Murray posted a time of 2:21.82 that was eighth best from the field of 24 competitors. The top-nine prelim times advanced. 

Four Norse also completed the Heptathlon today. Marta Spring placed fourth (3939), Morgan Sammons was fifth (3666), Sarah Holtz was sixth (3617) and Emily Miller was tenth (2998). 

Holtz also posted a top-10 performance in the high jump during the Heptathlon competition. She won this portion of the competition clearing the bar at 5-3 that ranks tied for ninth all-time.

Final Day Recap: McKenzie Carney earned her first all-conference honor in the 1500 meters today. Carney placed second clocked at 4:44.90. Carney also recorded team points in the 5,000 meter placing fourth with a time of 18:19.74.

Stephanie Murray, who qualified for the 800 meter finals, placed seventh with a time of 2:22.78.

Also scoring team points today was Emily Miller in the pole vault. Miller was seventh clearing the bar at 8-11. The 4 x 100 of Katie Perez, Kacy Rodamaker, Shannon Baker and Randi-Kate Canoy finished eighth (51.62). The 4 x 400 of Delaney Schurer, Taylor Schuring, Baker and Marta Springer placed fourth (4:00.15). The 4 x 800 of Mallory Carr, Carney, Kayla Ingvalson and Murray placed fourth (9:40.72).
