Three members of the Luther College track and field team earned all-conference honors at the 2019 American Rivers Conference Outdoor Championships hosted by Coe College May 9-11. To earn all-conference honors an athlete or a relay team must finish in the top-three of their respective event.
Junior Sarah Holtz (Austin, Minn./Pacelli Catholic) earned her second all-conference honor in the high jump. Holtz cleared the bar at 5-2 1/4 and place third. Tori VanVelzen of Central College won the event with a height of 5-4 1/4. Last year, Holtz claimed the league title with a winning mark of 5-3 1/4.
Senior Anna Restemayer (West St. Paul, Minn./Henry Sibley) and sophomore Amelia Hornseth (St. Paul, Minn./Nova Classical Academy) placed first and third respectively in the 1500 meter run. This was the first time both athlete have earned all-conference during their careers.
Restemayer crossed the finish line with a winning time of 4:39.68 that ranks seventh on Luther's all-time list for this event. Hornseth was just shy of two second behind posting a time of 4:41.44. Second place went to Kassie Rosenbum of Loras College with a time of 4:40.36.
