Luther College Director of Athletics has announced that Kristin LeClair Fleagle has been named assistant coach for both men’s and women’s track & field.
LeClair, a 2014 graduate of Carthage College, joins the Norse program from Benedictine University where she served as associate head coach for track and field and cross country and was the recruiting coordinator from July 2017-June 2018. She helped lead Benedictine to a sixth place finish at the 2018 NCAA III National Indoor Track & Field Championships, followed by a fourth place finish at the NCAA III Outdoor Championships, while coaching a national champion in the triple jump.
Prior to coaching at Benedictine, she was an assistant cross country and track coach at UW-Stevens Point from 2015-17. She coached seven national qualifiers in 28 events that produced15 All-American finishes and one national championship in the long jump. During her final year, UW-Stevens Point placed fourth at the NCAA III National Indoor Championships and had the privilege of coaching the Indoor Field Athlete of the Meet and National Field Athlete of the Year.
As an athlete at Carthage, she was a College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) 16-time all-conference performer that included one conference title and was also a national meet qualifier.
