The women's tennis team returned to action for the first time since last October. The Norse began the spring schedule with an impressive 8-1 victory over St. Scholastica. This non-conference match was played at Lifetime Fitness Center in Lakeville, Minn. Luther swept doubles play and then won five of six singles matches, with four of the in six straight set victories.
Straight set victories in singles play were recorded by Borget at No. 1 (6-1, 6-0), Cook at No. 2 96-2, 6-0), Kylie Dunning at No. 5 (6-4, 6-1) and Ellie Hemker at No. 6 (6-4, 6-0). Hastings battled back at No. 4 and won a three set match (4-6, 6-4, 10-5).
The victory improved Luther's overall record to 10-1. St. Scholastica fell to 0-5.
Luther's next match will be on Sunday, March 8 against Carleton College. The two teams will face each other at the Rochester Tennis Connection, Rochester, Minn.
