Luther wrapped up a successful trip to the West side of the American Rivers Conference by defeating Nebraska Wesleyan University 9-0 in Lincoln. Earlier in the day, the Norse defeated the Beavers of Buena Vista University in Storm Lake, Iowa, by the same final and are now 2-0 in the A-R-C.

The Norse dropped just five games in doubles. Lexi Hastings and Kelsey Kruse did not lose a game and secured the first win of the match by a final of (8-0) at No. 2. Aurora Schossow and Anna Spencer finished next with an (8-2) victory at No. 3, and Devon Bourget and Shelby Cook at No. 1 (8-3) secured the sweep. 

All six singles matches were won in straight sets. Luther finished their matches in the following order: Cook posted a (6-0, 6-0) win at No. 2; Hastings won at No. 4 (6-1, 6-1); Spencer won at No. 5 (6-2, 6-1); Bourget won at No. 1 (6-1, 6-2); Kruse won 7-6 (7-3), 6-3 at No. 3; and Kylie Dunning finished the match with a (6-0, 6-0) win at No. 6.

The win gives Luther an overall record of 2-1. Nebraska Wesleyan fell to 0-2.

Luther will be home next week for two A-R-C matches. Tuesday, Sept. 10 the Norse host the Spartans from the University of Dubuque at 4:00 p.m. On Sunday, Sept. 15 they will host Coe College at 1:00 p.m.
