Shelby Cook Named Women's Tennis Player of the Week

The American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) has announced that sophomore Shelby Cook (Cedar Rapids, Iowa/Kennedy) has been named the league's tennis player of the week for the week ending Sunday, Sept. 8, 2019.

Last week, Cook was 3-0 as Luther began the A-R-C schedule with 9-0 road victories over both Buena Vista University and Nebraska Wesleyan University. Against Buena Vista she played No. 2 doubles with sophomore Megan Grimm (Swisher, Iowa/Cedar Rapids, Prairie) and the duo defeated Alexis McGinnis and Emily Tapia (8-4). Against NWU she teamed with junior Devon Bourget (Eau Claire, Wis./Memorial) at No. 1 doubles and they defeated Brooke Sailer and Kailey Jay-Kissler (8-3). In singles she defeated Nebraska Wesleyan's Han Le at No. 2 (6-0, 6-0).

This is the second time she has been so honored during her career.
