Luther College claimed the Iowa Conference Championship for the second consecutive year tonight at the H.S. Kuyper Fieldhouse at Central College.
The Norse defeated Simpson College 6-0 and Central 8-1 and remained undefeated with a league mark of 8-0.
The league title was the 27th in school history and first back-to-back titles since 2009-10. Luther holds the Iowa Conference record for consecutive championships of 19 in a row dating from 1982-2000.
The Norse dominated league opponents posting a combined doubles record of 23-1 and 35-10 in singles.
The championship also means that the Norse will host the conference's NCAA Automatic Qualifier Tournament in the spring. That event will be held April 27-28, 2018 on Luther's new tennis courts.
The Norse are coached by Adam Strand and Miriam Blom Skrade. Since taking over the Norse program, Strand has posted a dual meet record of 102-58.
