Adam Strand

Head Coach

  • The 2020-21 campaign will be Coach Strand's 10th season at the helm of the women's tennis program
  • 2004 graduate of Luther College
  • During his tenure he has led the Norse to conference championships in 2016, 2017 and 2019
  • The Luther coaching staff has been named Conference Coaching Staff of the Year in 2016, 2017 and 2019
  • He has led the Norse to an overall record of 130-79
  • During the 2018-19 campaign he led the Norse to the NCAA III National Tournament, the 14th time in program history
  • He has coached 15 student-athletes who have earned 24 all-conference honors in singles and 18 who have earned 33 all-conference honors in doubles
  • He has also coached one league MVP - Devon Bourget in 2019
  • Prior to Luther he was the head coach of both the men's and women's programs at Augustana College, Rock Island, Ill. for six years
  • During his tenure his men's teams posted a record of 107-66 and placed third in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) five times and finished second his last year
  • He coached the women for five years posting a record of 71-58 including a 20-9 record and a second place finish in the CCIW in 2010
  • Named CCIW Coach of the Year in 2010
  • Four-year letter winner while playing for the Norse

Dustin Rhoads

Assistant Coach

  • 2014 University of Iowa Graduate, 2010 Ames High Graduate
  • The 2020-21 campaign will be Dustin's first as Assistant Coach
  • Previously was the Head Boys and Girls Tennis Coach and Sports Information Director at Ames High School
  • Led the girls team to a 55-7 Record, four State Tournament appearances and won the 2019 State Team Championship
  • Won three CIML Conference Championships, coached 14 state qualifiers, and 3 first team all-state tennis players
  • Coached the 2019 Co-Ed Doubles State Champions and 2019 Girls Singles State Runner-Up
  • 2019 National Federation of High Schools Girls Tennis Coach of the Year & Des Moines Register Tennis Girls Coach of the Year
  • Former first team all-state tennis player at Ames High School
