Luther won five events this afternoon and was defeated by Grinnell 188-111. The Norse are now 0-2 in dual meet competition. This was Grinnell's first competition of the year.
Sam Kraft and Linnea Lee-Brown posted two first place finishes each. Kraft won the 200 freestyle by two seconds (2:03.46) and the 500 freestyle by 20 seconds (5:28.22).
Lee-Brown touched the wall first in the 50 freestyle (25.22) and edged Grinnell's Haley O'Neill (56.80) to claim the victory in the 100 freestyle (56.52).
Kraft and Lee-Brown also swam the last two legs of the 200 medley relay that started the meet with a first place finish (1:57.70). Elena Dooley led off and was followed by Pilar Dritz.
Dritz also was the runner-up in three events. She placed second in the 100 backstroke (1:03.52), 200 backstroke (2:17.97) and 200 IM (2:23.14).
Second place finishes were also posted by Sofie Wallock in the 1000 freestyle (11:59.57), Kelly Cherrier in the 200 fly (2:30.16) and Lee-Brown in the 100 fly (1:03.94).
Norse divers Megan Broadbent and Elizabeth Bonin finished second and third respectively in both the one-meter and three-meter competitions.
Luther will be off until it hosts the two-day Luther Invitational Nov. 17-18.
