Luther ran its win streak to five in a row, thanks to a 10-3 victory over Rutgers-Newark. The Norse scored six runs in the second and added two in both the third and fifth frames.
Blake Banowetz and Hannah Halverson both drove in two runs. Banowetz was 2-for-5, while Halverson went 2-for-4 at the plate. Sierra Freeland and Abby Gehringer also had multiple hits going 3-for-5 and 2-for-2 respectively.
Samantha Bratland (5-2) pitched four innings and allowed one unearned run, walked one and struck out two en route to the victory in the circle. Abbey Gapinski tossed the final three frames and gave up two runs, one earned, allowed three hits and struck out one.
The victory gives Luther an overall record of 7-2.
